Inspection Reporting Information System

IRIS is developed for inspecting vehicles using a handheld device (e.g. HP IPAQ) instead of handwritten forms. The system eliminates the needs to physically submit the forms to the head office and re-key or encode the data.

The inspection information is either generated on the handheld device or comes from a server (using LAN or Internet connection). The information entered on the handheld device can be sent back to the server at some point. It is exchanged via the FTP-protocol using XML files.

In IRIS, the integrated camera of handheld device is used to take pictures of specific damages to a vehicle. The pictures are shown as an evidence for the specific damage. You can capture a signature of both the operator and the contractor/site manager using IRIS.

Technologies

.NET COMPACT FRAMEWORK 2.0, XML, RAS, C#, Bluetooth

Testing Services

Daffodil Solutions software testing services team performed Regression and End-to-End testing for IRIS. They identified the bugs in this system and put them into Bugzilla.
