The Scrum team should act as a sport team. Every team member works independently but towards the same goal. Scrum suggests that a team has a maximum of 6 - 8 members. The team leader is called the Scrum master. He should be one of the member of the team who is working on the project. The Scrum master implements and manages the Scrum process in the project. He also measures progress, removes impediments, and leads the team meetings.

The Scrum team as a whole defines the practices, meetings, and terminology of the Scrum for the team, and the Scrum Master ensures adherence to these "norms".
